Welcome to Chemstaff Kennels, (owner Scott Neely), home of champion bred Staffordshire Bull Terriers located close to Columbus GA in a small town called Hamilton GA. Dogs have always been a part of my life. I cannot remember a time where dogs were absent from my life. I have owned various types, breeds, and sizes of dogs. My college education was geared toward animals also. I also earned the title of Certified Dog Trainer while obtaining a degree in Animal Behavior.

How did I get involved in Staffies, you may ask? Well, I owned a Jack Russel Terrier for 13 years and due to health reasons, we had to put her down. Her death was a tremendous blow to our family. We had to find a substitute, not a replacement, for her and I wanted something with the same demeanor as a JRT but with a little more size. My study led me to Staffordshire Bull Terriers. I had a good understanding of the breed from my previous experience with other bulldog breeds so I knew what I was getting into. Staffies reputations however, are very misunderstood and mis-construed by the media. I learned that firsthand the minute I got one.

My first stafford made me fall in love with the breed through its temperament and general affection with my family, especially my kids. Now, I would have to say that this is, by far, one of my favorite breed of dogs. I would recommend a Staffie to any family looking for a lovable, courageous dog, whether for pet or show purposes. Here at Chemstaff Kennels, we will help you in every way possible to get a pup that fits your family needs. If we don't have it, we will help you get it.

Selective breeding is the focus at Chemstaff Kennels. We strive to breed dogs that we believe will complement each other to produce the best puppies based on the breed standard and temperament. Puppies are often marked by the grandsire and granddam of the mating pair. Therefore, grandparents and great grandparents play a huge role in breeding as well. So Chemstaff Kennels gives careful consideration to pedigrees when thinking about current and future breedings as well as stud services. All breeding stock is health tested and cleared for DM, JHC, and L-2-HGA to ensure healthy pups.

If you are looking for a family pet and are willing to do your research and train your dog, then the Staffie will not disappoint but rather give you years of pleasure. All puppies bred at Chemstaff Kennels will be carefully placed in the correct homes to ensure that they are given the best possible life they deserve, whether they are pets or used for showing and breeding. This is done through a screening process to ensure the buyer has a good understanding of the bred and the needed care. All potential buyers will need to fill out our puppy questionnaire and once approved, finish the buying process by filling out the buyer contract.
